LS-DYNA License Upgrade

Posted on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at 8:32 am

On Monday, Sept 29th, from 12 noon until 1 pm LS-Dyna will be unavailable so that we can install the new license key.  This action is required every September when the software license renews.  In the past we have been able to simply wait for a time when no LS-Dyna jobs were running and then install the license without impacting users, but this year the cluster has been so busy that this has not been possible.  So we must schedule this specific time to perform the installation. read more »

Choosing a Compiler Suite

Posted on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 9:13 am

gcc/g++/gfortran is the default compiler suite on the cluster. You probably already know that we have the Intel compiler suite, as well as the Portland Group Inc. (PGI) compilers. They are in the path, so you can use icc, pgcc, ifort, pgf90, etc., but sometimes a software package’s configure needs more of a hint as to which compiler suite you would like to build with. read more »
